John Rex Thompson

Born in England in 1855. Together with his brother Fred, emigrated to American in 1881 and founded the Thompson Steamboat Company in 1888. It was the largest such concern on Puget Sound. He sold the company in 1902 and carried on in the business of steamships until his death at 71 on Sept. 4, 1926.

Jewel in portrait denotes Past Potentate of Nile Temple from 1914. He was a Charter member of Nile Temple in 1908.

Past Grand Patron of the Grand Chapter of Eastern Star of Washington State.
